Evolution of the Black Quarterback is a three part Prime Video docuseries following Michael Vick across America as he explores the history and impact of Black quarterbacks on and off the field. The brief covered title design, archival treatment, and motion language for a story spanning decades of football and civil rights history. The challenge was honoring that history with the weight it deserves while keeping the energy of the modern game.

Archival imagery is central to the film’s visual language. An After Effects toolkit was developed to equip the production team with a range of dynamic layouts, incorporating metadata, labels, and other compositional elements to contextualize the material and enhance storytelling.

An alternate title treatment leans into handmade, expressive marks rendered in a bold black-and-white scheme. The aesthetic draws on the visual language of activist movements, adding urgency and a raw, human edge.
