Al Jazeera Arabic, the flagship Arabic-language channel of the Al Jazeera Media Network, is renowned for its uncompromising journalism, investigative reporting, and broad political discourse. To mark the channel’s 20th anniversary, the network’s leadership sought a bold departure from its previous visual identity. The redesign embraced a clean, functional aesthetic grounded in bold clarity. Every element of the on-screen architecture - from typography and color to motion and layout - was reimagined to reflect a modern, confident voice in global news.
The frame is a consistent branding element used across all on-screen assets. It presents information, drives animation, and plays a central role in the promo system by emphasizing key messages and tune-in times.
All information is structured within a grid system, with segments sized according to their importance. Using VizRT's transition logic, each segment features unique transitional relationships, enabling dynamic information stacking and smooth, fluid animations.
The Aljazeera font was updated for this rebrand and set in two weights. Cleaner lines and straighter edges are more consistent with the updated graphics package.
The channel's four main content areas - news, business, sport, and weather - each use a distinct color palette and a unique set of design elements and symbols, helping viewers quickly identify and navigate between segments.
