Food Inc 2

Food, Inc. 2 is the 2023 sequel to the acclaimed 2008 documentary Food, Inc., directed by Robert Kenner and Melissa Robledo. The film examines the rise of ultra-processed foods, the exploitation of labor, and the environmental toll of industrial agriculture - dense, systemic subject matter that had to read clearly without losing its weight.

Design System

The design system pulls from the oversized, often garish aesthetics of processed-food packaging and reinterprets them into a clean, bold visual language. The result presents complex statistics and ideas with clarity and impact, turning the look of the problem into the tool for explaining it.

Inspired by processed food packaging, the title is oversized and grabs attention. Multiple versions were created combining imagery of all the foods featured in the film.

Design Process: Early Logo Design

The intent of these initial designs was to help establish the graphic look and feel of the film. The oversized type inspired by processed food packaging resonated the most and became the basis for the film's design.
