Al Jazeera Arabic, the flagship channel of the Al Jazeera Media Network, is known for uncompromising journalism and broad political discourse. To mark the channel's 20th anniversary, leadership called for a bold departure from the previous identity: a contemporary news brand aware of its audience's shifting habits and its relationship to digital media. The challenge was modernizing one of the most recognizable voices in global news while finding a single organizing idea strong enough to unify the identity across every screen.

The rebrand is built around a single device: the moving frame. Both symbol and structure, it stands for Al Jazeera's window on the world and the reporter's camera framing an event, while drawing on the digital vocabulary of windows, screens, and pages. That same rectangle becomes the working unit of the system, organizing lower thirds, transitions, locators, and full screen graphics so every element is built from the same shape.

All information is structured within a grid system, with segments sized according to their importance. Using VizRT's transition logic, each segment features unique transitional relationships, enabling dynamic information stacking fluid animations.

The Aljazeera font was updated for this rebrand and set in two weights. Cleaner lines and straighter edges are more consistent with the updated graphics package.

The channel's four main content areas - news, business, sport, and weather - each use a distinct color palette and a unique set of design elements and symbols, helping viewers quickly identify and navigate between segments.
